Sorry to hijack... My friend is moving to DC from Israel. I was going to suggest Sela as an option for her kids. But the website says the school only takes new students upto grade 2. Yet the school goes to 5th. Can someone tell me why?

It's a fairly new school. They will add a grade each year.

Correct. The following school year they will add 3rd, then 4th up to 5th.

Thanks. That's too bad. Her DD will be a rising 4th grader when she gets here.

It's a great school for a kid from Israel or wants to go to Israel. Kind of like a Jewish day school, but publicly funded.

And it doesn't teach religion. So in that sense, not much like a Jewish day school at all.

So after all that work of learning a language, the children will no place to continue studying it? Let's be honest, Hebrew is not Spanish. You can't just walk down the street and practice.
