Fort Washington parents -- anyone sending kids to Alexandria Country Day or SSSA?

Hi there!

We just moved back to Fort Washington near National Harbor (older neighborhood where I grew up) after years away. We are African-American, have 2 daughters currently in Catholic school in DC, both work in DC. We are interested in private schools in Alexandria -- particularly Alexandria Country Day or St Stephens/St Agnes.

Does anyone on DCUM live in the Ft Washington area and send their kids to either of these schools? How has your experience been? What is the commute like? Do you use the bus?

I know someone who has one child at SSSAS and one at a private in Ft. Wash. and I know they like it. I have seen the bus near my home near the beginning of 210 but don't have much to share beyond that. We looked at it and decided to stay local at Maryland Intl Day for elementary years but it will be an option for upper school.
