I know WLs don't move much with the common lottery and are likely to move less now that more schools are participating in the common lottery. Last year my kid was going into pres3 and we had bad WL numbers so were blissfully ignorant of how much lists moved. Now for pre-k 4, we have some good WL numbers (single digit numbers at YY, Hearst and IT) but I assumed there still would be minimal movement. But now I am wondering if there might be some movement because parents of PS3 kids might have told their current school they were reenrolling and then applied elsewhere. For example, an IT parent might have switched to a DCI feeder, a Hearst parent commuting from EOTP might have gotten into a good charter close to home. Does anyone have a sense of whether the WLs move a bit more for higher grades? And yes I realize that either way, I need to relax and try to stop obsessing about this!
