Friend has hcg of 8 on 10th day after IVF transfer....

Has anyone ever had such a low hcg level and still had a baby? I had similar results once, and the doctor immediately told me to stop meds because it wasn't a viable pregnancy. But I'd prefer to share positive information with her if anyone has a good story to tell.

I've been through multiple chemical pregnancies. It is best not to give her false hope. As tough as it is, it is best to just wait out the 48 hours and see what the next test says. Every woman is different.

The chances of that turning into a viable pregnancy are slim to none. I agree with not giving her false hope. Honestly, when I was going through IVF (x 3 cycles) the last thing I wanted to hear was "the friend of a friend of a friend had it work in your exact circumstance so don't give up hope!!".
That said, I think you're an awesome friend for caring enough to post this.

Thanks for your replies. She got the bad news from her doctor, so no false hope here. Fertility treatment is just so hard sometimes.
