Where to go to drown my sorrows?

Anonymous
Struck out again, too depressed to drink last night (and have to work today), but would like to drown my sorrows tonight. Any suggestions for kid-friendly restaurants in and around NW? Already know about the kiddie happy hour at Bourbon hosted by the Ward 1 Education Collaborative tonight, but the last thing I want to do right now is be anywhere near an education collaborative. Thanks.

I'm really sorry, OP. We love going to Tryst in Adams Morgan with the kids. And the upstairs at Hard Times in Clarendon is great with kids in tow...they have a terrific, cheap kids menu.

My desk, right now.

I'm with you. This sucks.

I want to ditch my kid and go on a freaking bender. Stupid lottery, why do you hate us!?! I hope a night out helps, OP.

That's a great idea for next year (or maybe even the idea will catch on today) "Struck Out/Drown Your Sorrows" kid-friendly happy hour somewhere... The Coupe in Columbia Heights has a great little back area near the back bar (area has couches, they used to show kids movies there and parents could park at nearby tables or bar and talk)(and drink!). Maybe someone will think next year to set that up ahead of results being released, so all who need to drown sorrows can?

And betcha - cuz it's just like fate to do this - whoever puts a lot of time into organizing it will probably get into their first choice school and not need to drown sorrows And so they can go somewhere else to celebrate (NOT the "Struck Out" party, that would be cruel!).

Meet me at Meridian Pint. 6pm. I'll be the drunkard hanging off the bar stool with a red ribbon in my hair- what's left of it.
