Girls weekend in DC

| I live in Bethesda, but my 2 childhood girlfriends are coming to DC to see me. We all want a break from our kids etc. Can anyone recommend a fun, hip hotel in DC in a fun area? These days I am a suburban lady and don't know much about DC. Thanks so much. |

I would look for something near 14th St. NW/Logan Circle--lots of nice, cool restaurants/bars where you won't feel out of place as suburban mom. We stayed in the Washington Plaza, which has a nice outdoor pool if you're going to do it in the summer, and went to Le Diplomat. There are also a couple of hotels in the Kimpton group that looked interesting in that area. I feel like H Street is more for young hipsters, not us old ladies

| H Street is not just young hipsters but there are no good hotels nearby. I would stay at the Monaco because it's centrally located and convenient to everything, but the Palomar is good too and has a pool. The W would also be fun with the roof and the Bliss spa. |
