Will stuff in the fridge be ok after 6 hours without power?

Anonymous
Pepco turned off our power just now and said it will be back up at 6 am (6 hours from now). Will stuff in our fridge be ok if we leave it closed?

Should be fine. though I might be worried about raw meat/fish.

I'd eat it.

I would eat everything without question except the meat, which I would give the "sniff test." I'd put the meat in the back, bottom shelf of the fridge, which I think stays the coldest.

6 hours looks to be your outside recommended time:

If you keep the door closed it shouldn't be a problem.
If it goes much longer, go get some dry ice(Safeway near us sells it) and put it in the freezer.

Just don't open the door and it will be fine.
