Career as a Realtor with young kids

Anonymous
I know Realtors work a ton on the weekends but I'm wondering what the hours look like during the week? Are they flexible? I'm a military spouse looking to re-enter the work force and I'm pretty meh on returning to what I did (Communications, Events etc). I'm looking for a job that provides flexibility during the week to eliminate the need for before/after care and would be something that I could continue with even thought we move every few years. I realize I'd have to learn the new market where we move but I can deal with that when it happens. We'll be at our next duty station for 4 years, perhaps 8 so I feel like now might be the time.

I love real estate so I'm wondering if this might be a good fit for me?

It's commission work so "you eat what you kill"which means you work when you have a deal. Spring is busy - it's already started.lots of weekend hours but weekdays, too, once you have a contract to get to closing. Lots of phone calls during family time as well. Other seasons are quieter.

I can usually. Do drop off and pick up except when I have early morning inspections.

PP here. I forgot to say that my kids are older so I can do afternoon pick up but only to drop them at home then return to work. My younger kids go to aftercare.
