Planning a kid-free trip to celebrate my husband's 40th this summer. Since we can only be away for 4 days, we don't want to go too far. My husband is torn between the excitement of Vegas, and the relaxation of the beach. It sounds like the new Baha Mar complex in Nassau may be the best compromise between the two (and a relatively short flight, at that).
I'm torn between booking at the SLS or the Rosewood properties on the site. Since the complex isn't open yet (but we want to book soon), I'd love to hear what makes Rosewood properties so spectacular (how does it compare to other high-end chains, such as Ritz, Four Seasons, etc.)? Also...anything special about SLS hotels (I know absolutely nothing)? Also...any negatives about either of these brands? Rosewood would be a bit of a splurge for us, so just wondering if it's worth it! |

Omg, Rosewood is so far above a Ritz. I've only been to the Cabo Rosewood, and it's amazing. I've spent about two weeks total, at different times, there. I've always had a middle of the road room, but you are treated like royalty. The service is impeccable. The staff members greet you by name as you pass by. They clean your sunglasses at the pool, bring around little Popsicles, massage your feet, provide you with preloaded iPads, iron your clothes, pack and unpack you, the list goes on. You pay a premium for it, but IMO, it's so worth it. The food was fabulous on property too. I've also stayed at the One and Only there, and I'd say the service left more to be desired there. It was still good, but not exemplary.
Do it! You won't regret it! Have a wonderful trip. |
| Recently stayed at Rosewood Mayakoba and it was probably hands down the best vacation stay I have been on. This includes St Regis, Four Seasons and Ritz properties. Rosewood service is just a notch higher. The spa was truly spectacular. |
