My doctor just added this on to my Zoloft prescription as I've been having cycles of extreme anxiety leading to depression.

I'm nervous about new meds. Any experiences?

A friend's 20 something DD had barely left the house for over two years owing to anxiety and depression. She was taking an SSRI (I think Zoloft), but that wasn't doing it for her. Her psychiatrist put her on Abilify about a year ago and she was able to go to community college starting last summer. This semester she transferred to GWU.

She still has anxiety but, all in all, Abilify has has been a spectacular success story for her.

Little known fact about Abilify: you will likely have decreased heat tolerance. Watch that this spring and summer.

True about the heat tolerance that 19:11 mentioned.

I was on Abilify while taking Zoloft. It is a good add-on medication and can help with unresolved symptoms.

But you can also gain weight too on it.

Weigh the pros and cons first.
