That makes it seem more like Alec was conned and she was avoiding going with him to Spain. I wonder when he found out the truth.

I don't think he had a clue in the beginning, I think he was convinced she was fully Spanish but maybe the truth started to sink in a little bit when they applied for their marriage licence and she had to divulge her place of birth and her parents place of birth. But I really think she continued the con by pretending her one of her Grandparents was Spanish. There is a clip of Alec in 2014 at a press conference in Spain talking about how she was born in Boston but spent half her childhood in Spain because her paternal Grandmother was Spanish. It wouldn't surprise me if he believed that right up to a few days ago and only found out she was lying along with the rest of the world.

I feel really bad for him despite his lashing out. It seems like he really did believe her initially and I don’t blame him- why would someone lie about something this stupid? Why would someone fake an accent for over a decade? She told him she spent her childhood between Boston and Spain and that seems completely plausible. She’s humiliated him.

This. Feeling sorry for him seems OTT, but I do too. He seems to have been conned. That would surely explain having so many kids so quickly. Once he started to suspect, play on his not wanting to look like a sucker and then make him part of the lie. They probably do need the $$ she generates (in addition to his), which is based specifically on being Alec’s semi-exotic yoga teacher Spanish wife, to support 5 kids in the lifestyle for the next 25 years.

If the above is true, then he is the victim of a psychotic con artist and we should all have a lot of empathy for what he is going through, especially considering he doesn’t seem to have great coping skills. The posters calling HIM a far washed up whatever seem unnecessarily cruel.

I don't think he is washed up - in fact, he comes from a beautiful, successful family, albeit sometimes misbehaved - and she wanted a piece of that family. She was not going to get fame and fortune amongst old money Beacon Hill.

I cannot get over the people who seem to think Alec is a victim. Have you ever dated anyone? Over time you meet their parents and other people and you ask questions. Unless all they did was bonk day and night, he figured it out. Literally all he had to do was spend an hour with the parents or brother and he'd know something was up. There is a rumor the family was not allowed to talk to certain people at the wedding. If that's true, it's probably because they didn't want people to hear these Bostonians speak in their5 American accents.

I think their sexy role play got out of hand and took on a new life and Alec is so full of himself, he thinks the rest of us are too stupid to figure it out or care that she profited off this BS.

They should have saved it for the bedroom or she should have kept a low profile.

Maybe she is fighting with her parents over this. Still you would think that they would just go there to keep up the charade. I noticed in a video she said I haven't seen my family since x. But she didn't say I haven't been to Spain since then. Which means she last saw them in America. It's all very weird.
