Yosemite

Hi all,
We're planning a trip to Yosemite in late May and we have two questions:
1. Is it a good place for a 1 yo? (We do have the option of leaving her with Grandma and Grandpa but are a little nervous since we haven't done that before, and definitely not for a week.) We plan to do some hiking but nothing like rafting or rock climbing.
2. Any suggestions for where to stay? The only place we can find space in the park is in the Wawona Hotel (room with shared bath) and we can't tell from the site if the room would be large enough to accommodate a pack-n-play. Can anyone tell us? We are also considering renting a private home within the park, since we don't want to haul all of our camping gear out there but we really want to stay in the park.

Thanks in advance for any tips!

I stayed at the Wawona years ago. I believe there is room for a pack-and -play.

What type of hiking do you do now? There are definitely some pretty easy hikes you can do at different parks of the park that would accomodate you having your child in a pack.

If you are going for a week, I might recommend getting a house as opposed to staying in the Wawona for a week. Being in 1 room with a 1 year old will get pretty stir crazy very quickly.

Have fun!

I haven't been there for years, but I remember there were tons of cabins and kind of permanent cabin type tents.

We always camped and brought our VW Vangon... Awww, getting sentimental just thinking about it.

We stayed here:

which is outside the park. Very family friendly.
