Backyard patio paver pattern: herringbone or random?

Anonymous
This is a lightweight question but I'm second-guessing myself! For a backyard patio of about 400 square feet, in brown or gray (not red), do you prefer a brick-size paver in herringbone or a mix of sizes in random pattern? Does it matter at all? The herringbone is cheaper but I don't want to put in something that someday-buyers will think is ugly.

Herringbone:

I dint think either would be a deal breaker, but I prefer the random and think it's more in style right now.

I think they are both classic looks and would go with your preference, OP. They are both beautiful.

I like the way you think

Random. I think it looks more natural. Herringbone looks very manufactured and doesn't blend with nature.

I like the random, but the herringbone is fine. Neither would make or break a sale.

I agree with this- and it could just as easily be more 'modern' to do herringbone in 10 years time. The design industry (including magazines and TV) doesn't make much money if they can't keep the pendulum moving and jumping from trend to trend.

Not a deal breaker. I also don't mind the stamped concrete at all even though I am sure on here its considered "cheap", I actually think its pretty awesome what they can do.
