| Would you leave a UN legal job paying around $190k (amazing benefits, job security, low stress, etc.) for a law firm job paying around $340k? (as a counsel, no guarantee of partnership, stress, etc.). |
| No way! Stay where you are and enjoy it! |
| No. Low stress jobs are invaluable. Law firm jobs = STRESS |
| Stay |
| Law firm associate here, can I have your job? |
| UN job sounds way cooler. That's all I care about. |
| Um, NO! |
| DO NOT DO IT. YOUR JOB IS A UNICORN. |
|
Ha ha.
You are kidding, right? Why would you leave your UN job to have no life at all in Law Firm? |
| Not sure; don't law firm partners make $1M+? That's a lot of money you could be making in a few years. |
| Does the 190 include the tax payments? |
| OP here. The $190k is gross equivalent (I actually get paid net with tax reimbursement) |
|
do you have to earn money to ransom your parent from Yemeni pirates?
If not (or some comparable need for an extra $100k/yr) then no way. |
| Do you have a personal life now? Is it important to you? |
| OP here--I do have a personal life which is very important to me. I'm leaning against going back to big law (already did a few years right out of law school--although I woder if it would be better now that I'm more senior). |
