BCC construction - playing fields?

My child will be at BCC high school during the upcoming addition/construction. Looking though the planning documents I saw that the main field at the school is slated to be used for the construction staging before, during and for up to one year after construction (as will need to be redone once construction is complete). This would leave only the baseball field available for use (as tennis courts would also be affected during this time). Does anyone have information about where/when/how teams will practice and play games during what sounds like may be 2+ years??? How have other schools handled this? Seems like many county and school fields are already bursting at the seams.

the football field events, soccer, field hockey etc will most llikely be moved to wj. practice for field hockey will still be at Lynbrook like it always is, lacrosse will probably be at BE as in the past. so the only sports needing space are football (practice) and soccer which will probably be at another local school. but could use the baseball area.

once complete I hope they make the field turf

tennis courts will be on the roof of the new addition the school is used to having limited space for activities.

There was a rumor that some of the teams would be going to Sportsplex.

Thanks PP. So WJ is able to accommodate both their own teams in addition to those from BCC needing space for games and practice? That would be better than hauling to the Sportsplex. Also, any idea where will tennis be during construction? Also at WJ?

Can someone tell me what the timeframe is for the BCC construction? I've poked around in the documents and can find all sorts of plans, but nothing I see has dates on it. Thanks.

Timeline depends on state $. But contruction due to start Jan 2016, but could be pushed back a year.

I think the poster is referring to games, which WJ should be able to handle. Because they have a turf field there are fewer game cancellations there than schools with grass fields. Issue may be the Bethesda Soccer contract. Practices can be at parks or elementary schools. Our HS does some practices at local ESs even when all the fields were available.
