Coconut Oil?

Anonymous
Hi,

I've been reading a lot lately about using coconut oil in your beauty routine. Does anyone else do this? If so, how?

I just started using it in my face cleansing routing and I'm really liking it.

Wondered how others use it and if you've had good luck with it over time....

NP here - I'm also curious how people use it for their hair. I tried it once as a deep conditioner and it felt like it just coated my hair instead of really moisturizing it.

You should do a search on this forum. I know I've contributed to a few threads about how i use it in my hair, as have many others.

People on DCUM slather it all over their whole bodies, including their genitalia, and now don't need any other cleaning/ moisturizing products.

My mother uses a heating cap to heat the oil once it is on her hair. I think that helps with penetration so it is not just coating your hair.
You can also use a little bit to tame flyaways. Just be careful not to use too much.

Eye makeup remover for me. Also helps with those red chicken bumps for me if I mix with sugar and make a scrub.

I put it on my dry heels before putting on tights/hose for work. Moisturizers and helps with stinky feet.

I use it to wash my face.

I remove my make-up with a make-up remover towel thing. Then slather it on my face. Apply a warm wet wash cloth over my whole face to help it sink in, then use the wash cloth to wipe off any excess. My skin feels so much better since starting this (I have dry skin).

+1

A word of caution though - if you rinse off in the shower, you need to immediately spray your shower pan or tub down with a cleanser and scrub the heck out of it because it will turn into a treacherous skating rink. Very slippery and dangerous! On the rare occasion that I put it in my hair, I have a bathroom cleanser at the ready.

Do you need the makeup remover? I think the oil will take it off.

I do this too, but with avocado oil.

I put some under my eyes before bed and I can barely believe it, but it really helps! There's less discoloration and I look less tired. It doesn't work for my hair, too heavy.

I use it around my eyes, on my hands & feet, and yes, on my genitals (to help with menopausal dryness externally and as lube).

I've never used it around my eyes before! I'm totally going to try it and see how it works out. Thanks for the idea!
