| Help! Need to get my 12 year old DD a new bathing suit. Haven't had luck yet. Any suggestions? |

It depends on what look you're going for. For that age the swim suits could easily be too babyish or too mature- IMO.
Take a look at Hannah Andersson's swim separates: http://www.hannaandersson.com/category.aspx?id=swimwear_girls+two+piece |

I was a big HA fan when my kids were babies and toddlers, but these suits are too babyish for a middle schooler. I'd suggest Gap, Old Navy, J Crew (Crewcuts). My kids also like the Dolfin Uglies which they have at Dick's and swim specialty stores. The ones at Abercrombie are way too sexy for my 12 yo. I also won't buy anything with the fake boob padding in them. |
| Agree J Crew ones are cute/tastefull |
| Got a cute one from Kohl's sonoma brand (rainbow colors with a little ruffle across the bust -- good for that age). Lands End is the obvious choice. LLBean has fewer options, but very functional, not babyish and not sexy. |

Jonnie B at Boden. Perfect.

My girl is 12. She finds all the Gap, Old Navy and Target stuff too cutesy for her taste. She doesn't want flowers or ruffles or anything.
She likes plain Speedos - we go to Sports Basement or REI if the local Macys isn't carrying them. |
Agree! These are super cute! And not too expensive. |
| Costco has some newly stocked swimsuits. |
| Swimoutlet.com has everything from competition to more casual suits. |
| Sport Fair in Arlington? At least they have dressing rooms so your DD can try them--better than mail order. |
