Bishop McNamara ?

Any experience with this school? Every talks about Dematha & Seaton. But this school seems to fly under the radar yet it gets voted the best school in the county every year. Anyone provide some insight about this school?

This is several years ago, but everyone I know that went to McNamara had high GPAs, in tons of Honor's classes, and all got scholarships to Mt. St. Mary's. They all struggled in college except 1. Everyone who went to Seton or DeMatha had lower GPA's, but did fine in college. So I would say based on my experience McNamara's curriculum is easier than Seton or DeMatha. But as a said in the beginning, this was several years ago.

Personally I think Seton is superior because of a more difficult curriculum. McNamara is fine but not very challenging.

Oh wow thanks for the feedback

Last year, McNamara had 27 million in scholarships. 1 in 10 students went to college for free academically.
13 students in the last decade enrolled at Air Force Academy, West Point, Naval Academy, Coast Guard Academy.
Definitely top notch caliber academically.

Would you consider Grace Brethren in Clinton? My daughter was in Catholic school her entire life; however, when I tried enrolling her at McNamara in the 9th grade it was already full. The admin person at McNamara was the one who encouraged me to try Grace and I was pleased all 4 years while she was there.

Not for high school. Prek-3 thru 5 is OK. Once it gets to middle and high school, it's a no! I am a parent who transferred 6 grader to another school.

What are you talking about? Bishop McNamara is a high school only.

I read that as a response to the previous question about Grace Brethren, not about McNamara.

It's a joke of a school and a waste of $15,000/year. The kids run the place.

Yes I pulled my son. Some classes were ok, good teachers, etc. but a lot of them were not. A lot of wasted time, a lot of kids on their (school approved) iPads... my son complained a lot about classmates being rude to teachers or teachers not controlling classrooms.

Plus the facilities aren't that great.
