I guess they're really not accountable to anybody?

| It's in the update at the end, which was posted before you posted. So did you even read the article? Or just the headline? |
| Thanks for the update about the update. What are the stats? |
|
Graduation rates decreased from 79.9% to 68.9%.
I think that a better headline for this article would be "Charter Schools Unwilling to Release Graduation Data Before Data Is Fully Processed" or "Charter Schools Unwilling to Release Graduation Data Just Because You Asked." |
|
I would have thought they were savvy enough in the public relations realm to know who Kavitha is and to not blow off her request. I think it's clear from the tenor of her update "dramatic" drop in graduation rate (11%?) that she thinks there was something fishy going on there.
And, really, it takes 9 months to make that information available? Why does DCPS have it ready so much sooner? |
DCPS is a single LEA (local education authority). PCSB and OSSE are not LEA's, so they wouldn't track graduation rates directly, they have to report on what the charters (most are their own LEA) send them. That data may not always be consistent, and takes time to validate. That said, 9 months is ridiculous. |
Sorry! Local Education Agency. |
+1 |
Not sure they do. Otherwise, all the calls for data in the endless Hardy threads would have their answer. |
| Still 10% better than DCPS... |
Ah yes, but last year they were 23% better than DCPS...so what happened...and why didn't they want to report it? |
|
Umm.... charter high school graduation rates were published in PCSB's annual school performance report cards since November 2014.
I think we're creating something out of nothing here. http://dashboard.dcpcsb.org http://www.scribd.com/doc/250125054/2014-Performance-Management-Framework-Book-2014-pdf |
| If the website and PDF links aren't easy to compare (above), you can also find each charter high school's graduation rate in spreadsheet format here: https://data.dcpcsb.org/Performance-Management-Framework-PMF-/HIgh-School-PMF-2014-/s98p-6k8u |
Very "concealed" indeed! |
Hasn't that been answered like 10 times? Any doubters should call Hardy and post the answer. |
