From what I've see the HW is pretty light. 1.5 hours per night, including reading. Plus they offer HW support during brunch time (15-20min) and extra help during lunch.

An earlier thread this year said that academics at YY were not very good (math teachers teaching division without realizing multiplication had never been taught, no US or world history or geography, etc). Is this not true?

The bigger issue is the inappropriate focus on technology. Check the archives for the lengthy post on this.

Way to generalize. There was one parent who reported a very specific instance of this, and she was clear that the experience was unusual. They do teach US history and geography, although I don't know that those are strong suits in a Chinese school.

Are you saying people who speak Chinese don't need to know geography? Or only those who live in China or Chinese speaking countries (which is probably the same) ?

Sorry for not being clear, I meant US history and US geography. There is quite a lot of emphasis on world geography.

You're so insecure because DCI's program is a failing one. Don't blame posters telling the truth. Blame the school. Secondly, there was nothing bitchy about a comment saying the school has an inappropriate tech focus. What is bitchy is you and the DCI boosters who can't stand criticism. Stalker is correct for you!
