I will call my gyn tomorrow, but I'm wondering if anyone has btdt.
Saw gyn last Wed and was dx with yeast infection. Took one diflucan Wed. Still felt crummy (but a little better) on Mon, so was prescribed another diflucan. Now I feel worse. Discharge came back along with burning and itching. Sigh. |
Diagnosed as yeast as in looked under a microscope? Or just visual? His happened to me and I ended up having a bacterial infection, not yeast, even though it looked like yeast.
Sounds like you might not have a yeast infection. Maybe BV?
Vaginal culture confirmed yeast. But I feel worse now than I originally did.
I don't think it can, no. Perhaps you need another culture, or a cream.
Is the discharge smelly and watery? That's the hallmark of BV (or at least it was for me). I hate to tell you this, but I bounced back and forth between yeast and BV for a couple months when I was in my 20's. Not sure if it's common for that to happen though. I read recently that probiotics are good for vaginal health and can help cure BV. If I had know that then I would have tried it. Good luck! I hated BV worst of all so I hope it's not that!
PP again- I don't recall whether Diflucan was widely prescribed when all this happened to me, so I don't think it's the Diflucan. Just your body fighting the healthy balance.
I also bounced back and forth between the two during my pregnancies. I couldn't take diflucan though, so that's not what caused it.
