Is eyelash tinting worth it?

I'm thinking about how to simplify my morning routine, and am wondering if eyelash tinting would save me from doing the mascara thing. Has anyone out there tried this, and if so what are your thoughts? How often do you have to do it, and did it give you the same effect as mascara?

My pilates instructor just did this, and they looked amazing, but she has great long eyelashes to start with. Apparently, it won't make them any longer, but makes them *slightly* thicker and quite dark (they actually have all colors). It was nice for her - no muss, no fuss. She knows a blond who does it too, and it's really nice for her, because otherwise, it looks like she has no eyelashes.

I did it several times and loved it, however, the effect (as least mine) did not last as long as I would have liked. After about 2 weeks I was using mascara again. I am fair and blond though.
