what is the skill

can you list one or two skills your kids are learning.
Now academic related but extra curricular related activities like violin, piano, soccer, computer science....
Are they learning by themselves or going for private lessons and if so what is the monthly tuition for these classes.

My son is learning weight lifting from a combination of watching videos, and working with a personal trainer at the gym. The videos are free on youtube, and the personal trainer is $79.00 for 1 hour, once a month.

He is also learning carpentry at his volunteer job.

Arabic. About $600 for the school year.
Fencing. $130 for 8 classes.
Will enroll him in group piano lessons in the fall. $540 a semester.

Ice skating. $170 for a session (6-8 classes once a week), and we do a semi-private class once a week in addition which is $22 ($16 to the teacher, $6 to get on the ice).

In the fall, having zero experience ever playing, she tried out for and made the varsity volleyball team (the only sixth grader to make it). Now she's doing track. Both are free, through school, twice a week.

My younger DS just learned how to tie his shoes, how to shower by himself and how to create a website for a school project!

My older DS is learning how to prepare for his bar mitzvah, some piano song, and a bunch of stuff at school that I don't know

Also, how to take the annoying PAARC test

Way to break gender stereotypes!

We have a very limited budget, but stretch to provide regular piano, viola, and cello lessons for the kids. Those lessons average $30 each time. Wish we could extend to pay for fencing, martial arts, tennis, ice skating, drawing, and language lessons. I try to find time to teach them skills, too.
