Best HPT?

Anonymous
New here. I see a lot of posts on stocking up on some of the cheapie preg tests on Amazon, but also a lot of posts from women who don't trust the results of the tests.

Is there a good method to use when TTC? Use the cheapies as you go and if you get a BFP on one double check with a "more accurate" digital test? Take a digital after a BFN on a cheapie if you feel it may not be negative?

Any brands you all swear by? Want to do this stuff the right way and minimize the am I/am I not worry during the process. Thanks.

If you get a positive on a cheapy, there is no need to get a fancier hpt to confirm. The only issues with the cheapies are (1) the more expensive ones claim to be able to detect the pregnancy sooner, so you'll get your bfp sooner; (2) the cheapies require you to collect pee in a cup, whereas the pricier options let you just put the test in your stream; and (3) the pricier ones can be a bit easier to read. I think if you are going to do a lot of testing during your TWW, get the cheapies. If you can hold off until you are likely to test positive, then get the pricier ones if you want. Personally, I like the early detection tests, so I can take them and know that, at least as of the morning of the test, I was not pregnant, so I don't have to skip my dodgeball game or don't have to feel bad about a glass of wine, etc., and I don't have to pee in a cup. But it's just about preferences.

I personally prefer to pee in a cup + dip the stick in vs. peeing on the stick directly.

Anyway, what really is important either way is to make sure you use your first morning's urine because it is most concentrated. During the day, you tend to drink fluid and your urine thus becomes more diluted, lessening the effect of your result.

I just buy the Clearblue easy ones each time, the ones with lines not digital. But that's because I'm superstitious...I've gotten + with them in the past and always think that, somehow, the test will affect outcome. Stupid, I know. But where else can I admit that but here?!

I only trust FRER. I've gotten some very light squinters on those and they were all correct.

I love the Amazon cheapies (Wondfo). I was going through fertility treatments. Using them allowed me to test out my fertility drugs. Then I would keep on testing until 14-15 dpo. I didn't feel guilty if I used 5 or more tests a month.

I found Wondfo s to be very accurate. I test positive 10dpo--it was a squinter, but it was there. I got a strong positive at 14dpo.

Has anyone had issues with Wondfo showing bfn while FRER shows bfp? I'm having several symptoms that lead me to believe I'm pregnant, but the Wondfo is still negative and I'm wondering if I should go buy some FRERs.
