Recommend your kitchen designer with affordable ideas

We have a 13' x 13' kitchen with the original cabinets that have been poorly painted twice AND chewed on by the previous owner's dogs. On top of that, when we open/close the drawers, they shower shaved pieces of wood down into the cabinets below them so everything in the lower cabinets has to be rinsed before they are used. These cabinets have GOT TO GO.

While we're at it, we might as well talk to someone about new floors (we have those ugly 1970s faux terra cotta tiles) and obviously new countertops and possibly change the layout of the island. Hence the need for a kitchen designer. But since we just moved in last year, we still have a fairly limited budget and can't go crazy. There's no need to change plumbing, electric, etc….

Any recs???

You could go somewhere that will sell you cabinets-- a lot of kitchen stores will offer free design services.
