Here's a post that teen lurkers on DCUM can actually answer without pretending to be an adult:
Would you be " wierded out " if your Mom took a job at your school and everyone of your classmate's knew that Mrs ___ was " your Mom" ? Parents: would you rather remain " just a parent " and work somewhere else , as opposed to becoming more intimately aware of administrative functioning of your DC's school ? |

I worked at my kids middle and high schools. Our deal was I would not call them sweetie or honey or do anything momlike, and they would not act like brats who think they can get away with anything because their parent had power to smoothe things over.
The worst thing that happened was when my sons friends net him he wouldn't curse in front of me. They lost that bet. |
Thanks, PP. One question: had you worked there for some years and your children eventually attended when they entered MS or had your MS/ HS students been there for a years on their own , and then you joined the faculty ? I wonder if it makes a difference 'cause then its not just " their school" anymore Anyone else with a perspective on this ? |
