Infertility Support and Discussion

Hi,
I am 6 wks preg and I was surprised when I asked about my progesterone and estrogen levels and was told they don't check them (this is at SG). Is this standard for IVF since we are already taking progesterone shots and estrogen? I'm guess it is the same does for everyone and that works? I still would have thought that it would be something you would check.... |

Shady Grove does not check progesterone during the 2WW. Neither does Cornell or many other of the country's best clinics. Some other clinics do.
Studies (Shady Grove ran one) have found that it doesn't make a difference in success rates to micro manage the progesterone in the 2ww. good luck! |

whoops!
previous poster here. misread your question and I now realize that you're already pregnant (congrats!) It's very common to not check progesterone levels after pregancy is established following IVF. In fact, I've never heard of a clinic doing so. Shady Grove's policy is not unique. |
