OK, so I love this piece and think I would do it on the larger side and framed in black. The only thing I have is a neutral (light gray) sofa. What would you recommend in terms of pillows, rug, other art, accent table or accent chair?
Here is the art (don't laugh!) - https://www.etsy.com/listing/157662566/giraffe-days-lets-tandem-illustrations?ref=sr_gallery_1&ga_search_query=tandem+giraffe&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery We obviously don't like a very serious look but prefer fun and stylish. |
I'd pick up on the aqua and do throw pillows in that shade. |
Anyone else have any suggestions? Thank you all |
I like it. Funny.
I think there are a lot of ways you can go with it. I like the idea of the aqua. With a gray sofa, I think you go the rest of the room in warm grays with a pop of aqua for the throw pillows, maybe a lamp base in aqua too. Then for rug, I'd go with a reddish base color (Oriental rug type). I'd start googling gray and aqua rooms - I think you can pull another color, like the yellow, for things like an accent chair. Just a fast google of Gray aqua living room turned up these: mainly gray, aqua accents, big chartreuse piece: http://www.houzz.com/photos/living-room/aqua-and-gray- I found this on pinterest, which leads to a Facebook page (not sure if this is going to work): https://www.facebook.com/GoldCoastAssociationManagement I think you have a ton of options, and a lot depends on how you build up and where you start. So, let's say you like bright colors on the walls, like an aqua wall, then other things, like the rug, will be more neutral. or if you find a rug that really pulls the colors or complements, then you go more neutral on walls. It's all about balancing. |
This chair could make a nice accent:

Those are all great! Thanks everyone! I especially love that rug. Thanks for all of these great ideas to get started with. |
