Hit the limit today.... so many mean people calling each other out, so much hatred. I am removing this from my favorites link. What used to be a place where I could get advice, make a playdate or get informed opinions on things from one parent to another has become so full of anger, vitriol and outright Mean Girl behavior that there is not enough value. I read the threads and inevitably there is name calling, insults and unhelpful, snarky comments. Jeff, what you started with all good intentions has become depressing to read.
Glad that my kids are now older and I have a good network of people I can reach out to for advice. I won't be coming here any longer- the bad has overtaken the good. What a shame. |
Hear it all the time. |
I'm sorry that you feel this way. I do my best to respond to all reported posts. But, frankly, I don't get that many reports. I encourage everyone to use the "report" button to let me know about 'mean" posters. I have no use for them and will deal with their posts.

I'm glad that you posted this -- I often feel a bit guilty about reporting things because I assumed that you get way too many reports. Now that I know that you don't, I'll cut loose. ![]() |
Come back, or we'll kill you. |
You'll be back. ![]() |
I wish I had the willpower to quit! Good on you. |
It took me months, over a year probably, to pick up on this. I do not think it is common knowledge. |
Yep, it's addicting! |
I suppose that's one way to admit to arbitrary moderating. |
You used DCUM to make playdates? I am tempted to call troll ![]() |
Oh, god! Seriously. Me, too! I love what Jeff has built, and have benefited from it a lot over these first years of motherhood. But, oh man, it can be an angry space. Sometimes I play buffer and offer up supportive posts, other times I fall into grinch mode and am guilty of the same awful tone others exhibit. I'll try to go the rest of today without taking a look. Let's see how I do, OP. |
