Should we send a letter to SJC explaining our commitment?

My DC got wait listed at SJC which was a big bummer and so I was wondering if it would boost his chances to send a letter in explaining how it's his first choice?

I've always heard that it can't hurt and who knows, could help bump your kid up the WL if they go to the WL.

It certainly couldn't hurt. I'd do it.

Absolutely, and add anything new as well - sports, play, activities etc

It can't hurt. If you are from a Catholic elementary, tell your principal too.

Yes, almost everybody can get in to SJC

Wow. The lack of sensitivity is astonishing.

It absolutely would help differentiate him from other waitlisted students.

He should also send anything that comes up / has come up since he applied.

For example - if at the year end hockey banquet he is recognized for his service hours, send a note highlighting this - with a picture of him, the coach and him serving food at the shelter.
