So many things wrong with this:
1. AmWorks job fair - way too many white people for a job fair for DC residents where everyone is guaranteed a job. And only white and black people? Not one Hispanic or Asian person. Have they never been to DC? 2. A job fair run by the govt on the mall with one tent, 2 port a johns, no food vendors, and a line that looks to be moving quickly and a very short line at that. Again, clearly they have never been to DC. 3. Said job fair/job tent is on the mall on 4th of July. Besides the tent shown with a small in coming out of it, the mall is empty. No portable fencing, no portajohns setup. Presumably the Folk Life festival is elsewhere and the whole fireworks thing has now been relocated. 4. Then of course people are dressed likes it mid October - long sleeves and jackets. I can't recall a single July 4th where it hasn't been hot. Really hot. and humid. 5. And then the fireworks start and there is plenty of space for people to stand around and watch them. |
| funny! I don't watch House of Cards but I'm certainly familiar with 4th in DC. |

I literally just watched that one. I think the guy in the last scene was wearing a denim jacket. LOL.
What was up with FLOTUS peeing in front of the Russian ambassador? Power move? |
| er, it's a tv show. they don't have the budget for a throw away scene at a job fair. let it go. |
Yeah, that was just weird. I think she might have thought it was a power move but it was just plain weird. |
I know but at least get the basics right light it's hot in DC on July 4th. And they didn't need a budget for this at all, Photoshop is cheap but they could have set up a tent on the mall, and told people to come down to be filmed to be on House of Cards. They would easily have had a mob scene. |
Undoubtedly, you'd get a turn out. You need money even if you're not paying the extras, permits, and most especially time. It takes a while to corral a big group of people for just a few minutes of footage. I sure they're on a pretty tight turn around for shooting. Yes, maybe attention to details could have better, but seriously superfluous to the story. |

I got a good laugh from that scene.
I've seen more people standing on a corner watching the fireworks than what was depicted in the show. When he said that the line stretched all the way to The Lincoln Memorial, I wondered if they went around or through the section where the fireworks are fired. Also, special recognition goes to "City Hall" where the mayor announced AmWorks. |
