Will I regret this decision?!!

DH and I decided to upgrade to a king mattress, currently we have a queen with a beautiful wooden frame.

I figured I'd just buy a new frame while buying the mattress.

The store we purchased from didn't have any frames we liked, and we need the mattress ASAP.
So I had the ?brilliant? idea to just buy the simple frame they offer at the store, and add a head board later.

So now I'm freaking out that the frame will look horrible, though they looked fine in the store. It's some kind of metal with a plastic covering so you don't hurt yourself when you bang against it.
What the heck was I thinking?!
Do you think it will look ok once we have a nice headboard and I guess we should buy a bedskirt?

Please advise!

OP here again,

Maybe we can go back to the store today and cancel the order for the frame, and just keep the mattress on the floor for the moment?

How much was the frame? If it's really cheap, go for it. If it wasn't, yeah, cancel it and just buy a nice frame when you find one. It won't kill you guys to sleep on the floor in the short term, and wasting money sucks.

We got a simple frame when we upgraded as well. The mattress was WAY more expensive than I thought it would be, plus we wanted to take our time picking out a headboard. The frame is fine. Not fancy or anything (I think we paid $100 for it) but I really don't like sleeping on the floor and if we decide to get just a headboard and not a full bed, we can use this frame. I'm much more for function over form, though, particularly when it comes to my bed. I absolutely cannot tell what kind of bed frame I have while sleeping on my giant super comfy awesome new mattress.

You won't see the frame when the bed is made. You will barely see it when the bed is not made.

OP here, thanks everyone. I looked at the online reviews and they were good, so I think I'll just stick with it.

If needed, I'll buy a bedskirt, I was surprised they still sell/make those!

Did you become obese? Why do you need such a huge bed?

Do you mean the standard metal frame? You need a dustskirt and then you'll never see it.

When we upgraded to a king we paid a little extra to get the sturdiest frame they had. Those king foundations and mattresses are heavy and bulky and we wanted to make sure there was no sagging or squeaking. And it will provide a more solid base to attach the headboard to when we buy it.

Upgrading to a king was one of the best decisions we made!

Lol, I am a petite size two and I sooo want a king size bed. DH is 6 ft and has long limbs that he likes to spread out while we sleep. Whenever we stay at a hotel with a king sized bed it is heaven! Large beds aren't just for obese people!

King bed is heaven. . . you'll never want to go back. DH and I are not large people, but the extra space is so wonderful. You can be close when you want to but can also spread out and not bother the other person.

+1

We are upgrading to a king as well. DH moves around a lot in his sleep and wakes me up all night long.
