For anyone is a current or recent member of the Wildwood Manor pool, can you please tell us your experience? |
What type of information are you seeking? We were members there two years ago while we were on the wait list for another pool. There isn't a ton of shade at the pool. Snack bar is good. Facilities are decent, though there was an issue with yellow jackets at the baby pool that didn't get addressed for a few days until my DH said something after I got stung. We knew lots of people who were members and from that perspective, I wish we had stayed there. But, the pool we belong to now is much closer to home and has tennis, too. |
We were members for one year but then found a pool where more of DCs classmates go. I agree with PP. Nice pool, good snack bar. The prices for all of the pools are nuts around here but it's a good summer activity with the kids. It's especially fun if you know other families who are members. |
OP here. Thanks for the info. We don't know anyone who is a member of the pool...is it a decent place to make friends? Our kids are not in elementary school yet (4 year old and the youngest is almost 2), so I'm not sure if the cost is worth it for our needs. My oldest cannot swim independently without a puddle jumper, but we plan to keep the swim lessons going during the summer. |
I'm also wondering if the cost is worth it for a summer membership. We don't know any families who are members of the pool. Our oldest daughter is entering kindergarten this fall. I also have a 2 year old and a newborn. None of my kids can swim without a puddle jumper. |
Lots of families whose kids go to Ashburton go there. They have a fun swim team. |
I think that pools aren't all that worth it til you are through the napping phase. |
The pool is overcrowded. VERY overcrowded. Looks like a public pool now. They must have unlimited memberships. I won't get much use out of my membership this summer. Just got on a wait list for another pool. It's awful. |
My family and I have been members of wildwood pool for four years. It is rarely crowded and the evening swim hours are delightful. Organized events draw a crown for example Fourth of July, Opening Weekend, etc but that is by design. It is a wonderful community especially for Ashburton and NBMS families. |
Does anyone know if the Wildwood pool is heated?? |
Not heated. Not over crowded (that ended when a nasty hostile take over was defeated a couple years ago, which left a bad taste for many members and they left).
Works for working parents and SAH (2 swim team practices to choose from, either morning or late afternoon). Tons of kids on the B team, it's a very social group, your kid doesn't have to be a fantastic swimmer to have a blast. It is a great community pool, and where most kids and families from Ashburton hang out in the summer. |
Thanks! I appreciate your reply![]() Last question: how many years is the waitlist?? I think OGC is at least 2 yrs to wait... |
Actually, most left because the much needed renovation was irresponsibly voted down. Not a hostile takeover attempt...a reality check. The pool is help together with toothpaste and popsicle sticks and one say will break beyond repair. |
I think this is the year we will see a lot of wait list movement! |
Is it open? |
