My boyfriend is amazing and I love him!
The last few weeks I've noticed that his breath has been pretty foul. He is definitely overdue for a trip to the dentist. How in the world do I bring this up to him without hurting his feelings? |
| Are you sure it's a dental issue and not a health issue? Tonsil stones? Halitosis? |
I have no idea. I figured a dentist would be able to identify it. He needs to go anyway. |
|
Maybe he has a sinus infection? Does he have a cold?
Tell him you are going to the dentist and ask him when he's going next? Every 6 months? |
| Does he floss? Could be acid reflux or stomach related or nerves. Get some mouthwash and have a mouthwash party. |
|
I went through this a long time ago. I looked at him, told him I loved him, but his breath was awful and I was concerned it was more than simple teeth brushing. He saw a dentist and sure enough had an issue with one of his molars.
On the plus side, it helped me be able to be more open and not worry about speaking up. Plus he still asked me to marry him so I couldn't have been that offensive! |
| I think it's Ok to be honest about it. Just do it in a kind and non-judgmental way, and reassure him that it's not a big deal, it's just something that he needs to take care of. |
| Has it always been like this? |
| Liver problems also cause bad breath. Is he a heavy drinker? |
| Post nasal drip? |
| There is an anonymous message sending website to say you have halitosis. Google it. |

"Your breath doesn't smell as it used to and you should go to a dentist so they can check it out."
There, done. |
