Who's left it until the last few days to complete their application?
Anonymous
Not me. Submitted months ago.

There's no pro or con to submitting early or right before the deadline.
Anonymous
Started the application a while ago, but just finished with the order of preference recently.

Question: does your first choice school get more weight? I know you only get into one but my first choice is one that will have no or very few slots. Is it foolish to choose it or will the same preference just bump down to my second choice?

No. Once your lottery # is picked, if there is no room in your first choice, it watilists you and then moves to your second choice. There is no advantage to strategically reordering your picks once you choose where to apply; to the contrary, the best thing to do is to order in terms of preference. Good luck!

True, but apparently many schools see a huge jump in applications in the last few days before the deadline. Personally I applied back in December.

Share lists people! I'm always interested. And is there really a huge difference that an open house makes?

Yes. This is our 2nd yr doing the lottery. We've gone to open house of a HRCS and found that it's not for us. We ended up ranking it low.
