ECNL forcing Brave & Union Partnership

At the very least, the results aren't emphasized. They're trying to make the players better.

Now, if they're not good enough, they'll get cut. No participation trophies here. The prize is a pro contract.

The paid players situation is not helping either.
Next year can only be better !

What is the paid player situation? I have not heard that phrase.

Are you referring to Union 2011 or McLean Green 2011?

I think the PP is referring to the side deals with certain parents for specific positions for their kids.

Yes there are side deals. Some players in McLean 2011 will cause goals every weekend. Yet you find them playing again the following weekend.

How dare that coach not bench a player permanently for making a few mistakes in U13 soccer!

This is travel soccer not participation trophy soccer

This is soccer paid for by a bunch of families who expect their kids to be given opportunities to improve as a player and have a good experience.

In other countries, they hardly even keep score at this age. You may notice that other countries are generally better than us at soccer.

Other countries don’t keep score at Under 13?

True . Some European academies don't until U16

15 year olds not keeping score?

Fake news.

And BRAVE undefeated vs VDA this year.

2010 mini bracket
Brave 2-1-1 7points,6GF, 7GA
VDA 1-1-2 5points, 5GF, 8GA
Union 1-2-1 4points, 11GF, 8GA

These final results are a surprise. So BRAVE came out on top amongst the local teams. Who would have guessed?!

Oh how we just love to blame everything going wrong at McLean on the boys side. Unpopular opinion here but this merger was also put into place to help the struggling girls side.

For those who are either in denial or are having trouble identifying the struggle, here is a bit of assistance. In the last 12 games Unions best team is 4-6-2. That’s 14 of a possible 36 points. That’s not mediocre, that’s something less. Of those 4 wins, one was against a 13th place team and two were against an 11th place team.

The next time someone mentions the boys side as the problem just smile and kindly remind them that Union’s best team is 4-6-2 in their last 12 games. Just facts.

So why are you surprised?

Cool story brah. Braves worst teams are 1-8 with GD -22 (06); 2-10 with a GD -42 (07s); and 0-12 with GD -37 (09). The club is erratic and also doesn’t exist anymore so keep smiling kindly while your players get recruited to nothing schools. Your pipeline to college objectively sucks and the Brave parents I know are looking forward to FVU because they know it’s an improvement.

Wow! It seems the previous comments were results-specific, factual info about a specific age group across 3 different clubs and not insulting any. This not so much.

Both clubs overall are terrible. This merger did nothing to help. Boys side is horrendous and will be that way next season. Girls side only really 1-2 high performing team. I suspect FVU will no longer exist after 2 or so seasons. They don't have the facilities, coaches and are getting leftover kids who couldn't make another ECNL team.

Agree that the landscape will change again relatively soon.

What are your non playoff bound ECNL players doing for the summer? Is meeting with trainer 2-3x a week enough? Daughter be U14 in the fall. First year ECNL player

ECNL is long in the tooth. MLSNext is the future. Sorry.

Sure for the boys. But what about the girls?

When the GA announces NWSLNext, it will be over for ecnl.
