If I don't screen for height and just browse profiles based on match quality, writing, and headshots...i keep going through truckloads of 5'7"-5'9" if not taller women. Way more than what you would normally see in the street.
I read another forum and guys were saying that online dating sites have a higher percentage of taller women on them. What's up with that? |
| Maybe they are looking for taller men? I don't encounter many men 6 foot or taller in my daily encounters. |
Really? My husband is just under 6 feet (5' 11.5") and he is one of the shorter men I see day to day (neighbors, just random people in stores, etc.) |

I wonder if men tend to look for shorter women when dating, so that leaves a higher-than-usual percentage of taller women unmarried? DC has a lot of shorter men, so I can see that happening.
And maybe the taller women, for some reason, are more likely to go online to try to find a taller mate, while the shorter women figure they can just meet one of the not-tall men at the bar or at work? |
You must not live in dc. |
That poster must be living in pacific nw, upper midwest, dakotas, mountainwest where everyone is a tree |
| I'm a short woman (5'4") and I'm online dating. There may be something to your analysis, because I have had guys I met online specifically comment on how I was taller than what my profile said when I've worn heels that weren't entirely visible (under pants) to a date. Never thought much about it before, or even checked what a guy's height was on his profile before a date, because virtually all men are taller than I am, but since it has happened a couple of times now, maybe short women are in short supply? |
