Per week
and how old is your child? |
| We're averaging $360/week per kid - 10 and 11 year olds. But there is a lot of variation -- most expensive camp is $900/week, cheapest is $220. |
| Too much! For a 7 and 9 year old, about $350 a week for day camp- but my daughter is also trying out 3 weeks of sleepaway camp and the price makes me cry! |
Wow! What do you get for $900 a week? |
|
Our expense worked out to just over $360/week, thanks to being able to get into one camp that was cheaper for the two weeks, and another two-week camp that only cost $306/week including extended day. Other camps cost as much as $480/week once extended day and registration fees were included. We're in North Arlington.

With extended care on both ends of the day probably about $360 - $400 per week. It is crazy but both DH and I work full time and the kids like going to camp.

Sleep-awau camp |
| I snuck away 320 per week per kid (i have 3!) from my bonus in the fall. It will still be short about 50 bucks a week per kid. We only do 6 weeks of camp. I take off 2 weeks and DH takes off 1. I priced out a summer sitter and it would of been cheaper but my kids honestly love camp. We had a sit down and voted and all three of them wanted camp. |
| This will be our first summer of camp for my older child. I enrolled him in a few weeks at the rec center for a little less than $300 per week. I am also looking into a few weeks at private schools in our area that will cost around $400 per week. |
| YMCA camps for about $200/week for 6 weeks each. Three weeks each at grandma's beach house, week of sleep away camp each ($750 each) and a week of family vacation (who knows). |
| 6K |
| $11,200 K for 2 kids all summer, so average of 560 per week. They are both going to sleep away camp, which drives up the cost, but the remaining weeks are 300-500, per week, per kid including before/aftercare. Its insane. |
| My kids are 8 and 11. Camp is $4200 per kid for seven weeks - they'll be staying with friends for the summer and going to performing arts day camp. |
|
We could never afford most of these prices. the past two years we've used DC parks and rec little explorer camps at $55 a week ($110 for a two week session).
this year we're splurging and sending our kids to a camp run by their charter school which works out at about $350 a week for both kids (with a sibling discount) -- so $175 per kid. Kids are 6 and 4. |
| Have 2 kids and paying $200/week per kid through Lifetime Fitness (have a discount for early registration.) This is for 8a-6p. Kids have been going for a few years and love it. We need 11 weeks of camp - so about $4400. |
