Will APS Issue IPads to 6th Graders Again Next Year?

planning to buy a computer for 5th grade DS in the next month or so, and would like to know whether APS is likely to do it again and give Ipads to 4th/6th graders next year. If he's getting a tablet from school in 6th grade then I'll just buy him a laptop for home use mostly.

yes, plan is to give them to rising 2nd/6th/9th graders each year, then refresh when they get to 6th/9th

yes, plan is to give them to rising 2nd/6th/9th graders each year, then refresh when they get to 6th/9th

Thanks. I knew that's the plan but wasn't sure if the budget is there for next year.

The kids keep them.

The school budget has yet to be passed, so it is not too late to share opinions about what spending priorities should be (not that I want to start the debate here again, just that you can get involved).

There's no special budget for iPads, there's a line item for IT refresh and last year they used it on iPads instead of whatever they used to buy.

Fine, but whatever you call it, APS is spending millions on technology and it has a budget gap. Unless the money is from a restricted grant, every item in the budget should be evaluated for its cost:benefit ratio.
