Best mid-atlantic ski town?

Anonymous
We've been to whitetail, liberty, wisp, and camelback...but are looking for the best ski mountain with a fun village...does that exist? If not, which comes close?
Thanks!

Snowshoe and seven springs.

Snowshoe has decent skiing but not much of a village.

It's got a village square, several shops, several restaurants, a pool complex, a spa, a teen center and a kid center. It's pretty decent by mid Atlantic standards.

I love seven springs but it has no town or village at all, it is just a hotel with amenities on a mountain with good skiing.

You must be confused. Snowshoe is designed exactly like the ski villages in Utah and Colorado.

We were just there this weekend, and I agree!

And it's a good thing it has a decent village, because there is nothing else for many miles around.

Snowshoe is the one most highly recommended here. We are going mid-March to check it out. FYI - their ridiculous pass is on sale. Good for March and all of next years season for $229. We are hoping to go one time in March and twice next year and it's a great deal.

Snowshoe is about as close as you'll find around here.

How about Davis and Thomas WV? Funky places to eat or hear live music (The Purple Fiddle) and short drive to Canaan Valley, Timberline Resort as well as Whitegrass (if there is enough snow for XC) and Blackwater Falls State Park (waterfall, hiking, XC, lodge)
