How did you pick an elementary school for a kid with asd

Mostly just based on where you live. Not sure what you're actually asking?

You don't pick the school. The school is determined by where you live. If you are currently looking for a house, then budget and commute would play a major part. What are the commutes and what is the budget?

You can get a 2 bedroom condo in downtown McLean for that budget and be in Franklin Sherman ES' district.

OP, it all depends on what else you want from school. Sure, SPED is a must, but do you want an AAP center, foreign languages, or you don't care about any of those things and just want a warm and fuzzy school. While our school is not an AAP center and it doesn't have FLES or immersion programs, its staff is very warm and nurturing towards SN kids. I can afford to move us to another school but will my kid be treated as a human being vs. "that bad kid"? I am not sure.
