Just gave my 4-year old the Tripp-trapp chair, and she stepped up on the bottom foot rest with one leg to get up onto the chair part, and the chair tipped completely forward! If I hadn't been standing right there, the whole chair would have fallen top of her. I installed the anti-tip plastic extenders for the back legs, but that is for preventing it tipping backwards. Is this just a dangerous chair, or did I put it together incorrectly? |
We've had our 2 yrs and has never tipped- not sure what happened. Was she really pulling on the top to get herself up? Try lowering the bottom step? |
I think you might have put it together incorrectly. |
I'm a big fan of anything Stokke, and in my 8 years of having 2 Tripp Trapp chairs none of them have tipped. However I did hear that the chair could tip backwards. Not sure what happened to make it tip forward - is it a wrong installation, or just that your DD is very athletic? |
Sounds like perhaps it's not put together correctly. Did you follow the guidelines regarding how far forward the bottom footrest can be, compared to seat? |
Going on 7 years with two monkeys in Tripp Trapps and they've never tipped. Check the chair. |
My children have tipped the chairs forward and back. However, they are older (and bigger and heavier) than 4. |
Had ours for eight years, and it has never tipped. |
Make sure the forward edge of the footrest. NEVER exceeds the front tip of the chair legs at floor level. |
