U12 is pre-ECNL now. U13 used to be pre-ECNL.

For DA, combined group starts next year. There is no U13/U14 this year, although clubs have taken U13 play-ups this year. Next year, only here and TX will have single age groups for DA U13 and U14. This is a pretty big deal that no one seems focused on here. Rising U13s will get lots of playing time here in DA compared to other parts of US stuck with combined age grouping.

I don’t think there are many areas where 4 DA’s are matched with 4 ECNL clubs. It makes sense for DA to match ECNLs single age U13 in this division.

yes, I see the DMV being very watered down in the coming years with few good teams on the national stage

And it isn't already??

well now loudon, Braddock road, and McLean can play each other. What was the point of leaving CCL again?

So that CCL guy can complain about going to NC for games now instead of VA Beach?

ECNL is the new CCL but with a whole new money grab (paying for mandatory 4 days of practice a week, multiple showcases, etc). ECNL started in 2009 as a money grab when they realized parents would pay. Colleges were still able to recruit before the 2009 money grab.

LOL. You got it backwards though. CCL Guy would argue with those posters about how CCL was just a choice and you should tell your TD to drop your player to the B team for CCL2. He also loved those long drives as chances to bond. He will be sad to learn about team buses . . .

Yup, I still don't understand the shock and surprise when travel happens in travel soccer.

I found this interesting. I did not know DA teams played in tournaments versus ECNL teams. Apparently this was two weekends ago in PA. the McLean 03 ECNL team beat Spirit DA and tied FCV DA. I looked up that McLean 03 ECNL team and they are in 4th in their ECNL division. Does anyone know if we will see more of this in terms of DA playing against ECNL? Its interesting as you can compare teams across the two leagues.

DA teams can play in "non-DA" tournaments provided that the tournament only plays one game a day and provides a day of rest after two games. So a 3 game tourney needs 4 days to complete. So, you will see "DA Brackets" at tournaments. It does not necessarily mean the "top" bracket but it does mean it conforms to DA scheduling policies.

Anyone with girls DA have any comments on the off season training and continued development?

Do the DAs do baseline evals and track progress on things like fitness, consistency, accuracy or other development? Or are these type of stats too deep too early. I would think those SMART type of objectives would be ok, if they were treated appropriately for individual dev. plans.

Spirit did baselines for some athletic metrics. Not sure regarding "soccer" stuff though.

I believe that FCV also did some similar athletic metrics as well.
