Asked to give an example of a non-conservative arguing, you say that you can tell one from another. If you have no evidence for your statement, why are you making it? Of course, you include the obligatory attempt to change the subject. You are unable to support your own argument, so Washington is dysfunctional. It appears that conservatives live in a world in which they can say anything and it is universally accepted. Challenge them even the slightest bit and they have no idea what to do.

Look this is a conservative smear campaign. As more information comes out, everything that the conservatives have stated as fact is untrue. Who knows if he service with distinction and it does not matter. He and his father are easy targets and the grifters that are the conservatives see easy feeding. Okay, sitting around the field at Dc's soccer try-outs last night with a bunch of families I have known for years, strong supporters of this Administration, claim to be democrats but also strong ties to the military, and they were discussing this swap and Bergdahl. They were discussing military honor and distinction. Some were distressed about the swap. One was livid having lost a child in Afghanistan. One was indifferent about the swap. What they uniformly expressed was their thought that he did not deserve to be hailed as serving with honor and distinction. Several of my liberal friends with past ties to the military have expressed similar concerns on social media. Believe what you will. We all do...

Here's a blurb from an article in yesterday's Washington post about Israeli prisoner swaps by Israeli peace activist Gershon Baskin. How much we differ from Israel about our POWs. Indeed, all the information hasn't come out yet about Bergdahl so I will reserve my opinion about him until I read the FACTS.

"In an interview, Baskin noted that Israelis have had a long history with prisoner swaps and that although they are often controversial, debated and condemned, the society — and, eventually, the political leadership — broadly supports them.

“In Israel, there is no draft. It is a people’s army. The whole society is the army. My father, myself, my brothers, my sons. We all served in the army. We belong to the army, and the army belongs to us. There is no separation,” Baskin said.“And so we have an unwritten covenant: We don’t leave anyone behind.”

If he deserted, he should not receive military benefits. He owes an apology to those that died looking for him and their families,the US. Military, and the American People who may pay for his return. He should be grateful.
I hope he will be able to do something productive with his life after this, otherwise it is a waste.
