I don't understand why Trump thinks it's ok to be "America First" at all costs. But it's not ok for other countries to do the same. |
He's not telling Canada not to be Canada first. He's saying Canada has grifted off the USA and now the USA wants that deal. |
And Canada has zero cards from being socialist and weak. |
Since you are a newb, maybe we should ask Baron Trump for a DNA test to see if he is a Trudeau and, if you follow the conspiracy theories, a Castro. |
How does that change Canada having zero cards from being socialist and weak? |
He's not using those words but that is the intent. Otherwise, why the threats when countries make deals that don't include the US? WHAT DEAL does this guy want? He's back to increasing tariffs because of fentanyl. Hello, Demented Donnie? Yeah... your border issues are YOUR issues. YOUR border is YOUR problem. The US Government's own numbers don't hold up to Trump's claims about fentanyl. Time to sell some bonds. |
That's bull and if you had 1/4 brain you would know it. Throw the switch, Doug. |
Good. Carney can tell Trump to go diddle himself. No access to lumber, power, potash, aluminum, etc. |
Its mostly nat gas and aluminum. The rest could be gotten elsewhere. Nat gas could on-shore but would need more pipelines. Aluminum will never be moved, too hard. |
Where are you getting enough potash? |
Canada has not grifted off of the USA. That's entirely based off of gross misrepresentations. If anything, the US has benefited greatly from Canada - oil, lumber, other resources. |
Canada is a huge country with enormous amounts of natural resources & extensive social services. They have the safe, comfortable life they have because they are able to get by with a tiny & cheap military. Why? Because Big Brother is next door. |
Canada is the US's largest single customer for goods and services. Interesting how a business oriented country is calling its best customer a grifter. Maybe Canada should stop buying US goods and services. |
Or they realize they have no foreseeable threats, and elected to invest resources in their own peopleu rather than wasting billions on endless Middle Eastern wars. |
Classic MAGA. American is always the victim. Two-way trade is a lose-lose proposition. Mutual cooperation is impossible, so America must threaten, bluster, and dominate by force. And then of course back down like a whimpering child when the markets react. |
