How many siblings do you have vs how many kids do you & your siblings have?

I'm the oldest of 3 (girl, boy, boy).

I have 2 kids (girl, boy) and both of my younger brothers have 3 kids - girl, girl, boy and girl, boy, boy.

I am oldest of 2 and DH is the middle child of 3. We have 2 children and none of our siblings have children. My brother and his wife didn’t want any, DH’s brother and wife waited too long and dealt with infertility issues- they stopped trying before attempting interventions. DH’s sister is single, although I believe she wants a family.

DH and I are close to our cousins and several of them have kids close in age to our kids, so we do a lot with them and that’s been really nice.

I’m one of three kids. My older sibling has one kid and my other sibling does not (he is much younger than us—he’s still in high school). I am TTC #1.

I grew up in a family with 4 kids. DH had a family with 3 kids.

My family:
Sister: 2 kids
Me: 2 kids
Brother: 2 kids
Brother: 0 kids

DH family:
DH: 2 kids
Brother: 4 kids (two with first wife; 2 with second wife)
Brother: 2 kids

So... in the second generation, no woman had more than 2 kids whereas our moms had 3 or 4 kids.

interesting thread. amazing how some people with a lot of children have comparatively few grandchildren. my birth family had 3 who now have:

oldest - 1 child (but also 2 grandchildren)
middle - 1 child
youngest (me) - 3 children
