FCV finds its way into ECNL. Loudoun’s days coming to an end

Anonymous
Making it into the ECNL showcase even into the open cup as an ECNL R team is still worth something. College coaches can still attend your games and see you play. Some might even have more respect for a high performing ECNL R team as opposed to a low performing regular ECNL team (like BRYC or Maryland United). So keep on spouting BS and the rest of us will keep on watching our DC playing and improving.

They are livin’ la vida loca now at the B team levels. As far as top girls FCV teams, alas they remain in GA where their offshoot teams can win Super Y, 3on3, and futsal (thanks to Gus mostly). Yippee.

ECNL R is a part of ECNL. Yes, it is one level below, but it is ECNL nonetheless. Try to keep up.

No, it isn't. It is simply rebadged NPL and nothing more. The best you can hope for is if you win your ECNL-R division you get to play in the lowest possible bracket at one ECNL showcase. That's it. There is no promotion relegation between the two it is simply a matter of marketing, which is apparently working on fools like you, to have US Club soccer leagues under the same umbrella and nothing more.

ECNL-R allows for a B team league for existing ECNL clubs while providing the ability to limit travel by adding non-ECNL club teams so that a competitive local/regional league can exist.

ECNL-R does not provide a pathway into ECNL for non full ECNL clubs.

Way to contradict yourself. Not part of ECNL but possible to play in an ECNL showcase. Look at you stomping your feet like a petulant child.

A top place finisher playing in the bottom bracket of one ECNL showcase is not a pathway into ECNL.

Unlike ECNL your ECNL-R is not guaranteed of playing in a ECNL showcase. You can't plan on it, bank on it, write College Coaches with the expectation of it. You are not functionally a part of ECNL other than rounding out the bottom of a single showcase bracket playing against mostly other ECNL-R teams and the worst performing ECNL teams.

Awww. Someone needs a binky. ROTFLMAO.

Nobody is crying nor do they need a binky.

Simple facts have been posted without any attacks. And here is another fact, Villarreal only has their boys side in ECNL-R. Their girls teams are not a part of ECNL-R. So, sorry but FCV girls will not be playing in ECNL-R much less ECNL anytime soon. These are just facts.

Whoops...

I stand corrected regarding Villareal, however, it still doesn't change the fact that ECNL-R is not a part of a Pro-Rel system within ECNL. It is a B team league for full ECNL Clubs and the A team for non-ECNL clubs. As a league it is on par with CCL, EDP and NCSL.

There are other showcases they can register for and have certainly that they will be there in order to let players inform coaches when and where they will be playing. Most ECLN-R teams won't be playing in ECNL showcases, so it's a moot point for them.

Lol. Is this what FCV is these days? Merging with viva so they can play in ecnl-r? Will viva become FCV’s top team bc ecnl-r is more competitive than GA (arguably)? Where are they going to practice? Reeks of desperation

ECNL R much more competitive than CCL on the girls side and a lot of those teams also play EDP leagues. Probably slightly better than NCSL Div 1 league too for older levels.

Lower ECNL teams are still much much better than top ECNL-R teams.

Nobody is bashing the league. There are just structural differences between ECNL and ECNL-R. They are not the same, they never will be the same. And showcase wise, terrific, it is a bonus IF you win your own Regional League. And if you do you still will simply play other ECNL-R teams and has been stated some underperforming ECNL teams.

College coaches scout kids, not teams. They know the difference between leagues and the level of play. The film you will use to entice them to see your DC play will be 90% league based play with slower and less skilled players. Even if your team is a terrific ECNL-R team they won't care about the TEAM, only your kid. Your kid would have to be head and shoulders better than any player on the field to get noticed.

Combining ECNL and GA there are nearly 4,000 kids in any given graduation year getting looked at before your ECNL-R kid.

Not Evergreen after their current contract for field space expires! 😂

Vienna ECNL R beat BRYC ECNL in a scrimmage so that comment above isn’t necessarily true.

1. It was a scrimmage
2. BRYC has not been accused of being a top ECNL club with top ECNL teams.

GA is not as good as ECNL but stop with this silliness of ECNL-R being a top league in any way shape or form. As ECNL and GA both continue to expand it is simply a race to the bottom.
