Tell me about Lidl

Interesting. I love their produce, find it to be higher quality than almost any other store near me. (McLean)

Almost every time I go I hear others speaking German (besides me).

Should I try Lidl? It's a little farther away. What do you like there? How is it different from Aldi?

It's for the poors. I've never even bothered to set foot in the one in our town. We have other more high end grocers that I prefer.

Because you're an idiot? We're a UHNW family, just not stupid.

Their store brand bubbly water is really good.

The produce is hit or miss. Depends on what you are looking for and they have what they have.

I haven't heard any German in my Lidls except for the people butchering the box label names.

I live in Germany and only shop at Lidl if there is no other option. The items might be ‘authentic’ from Germany, but they aren’t the best quality.

I went to Lidl out of curiosity but wasn't impressed with anything in that store. Bakery was nothing special.

I had never seen one of those 'self service bread slicers' before I went to Lidl. I enjoy using it but get kind of freaked out about a child cutting off a finger or hand.

I’m a Lidl confused

Love it when the insecure ones have to chime in with a belittling remark. Yes pp, you are clearly richer and better than us. Feel better now?

The belittling is just new money behavior. Ignore it.

It's for the apartment dwellers where we live. Hard pass.

You’ve never been there — yet you’re sure that you prefer other shops. Okay.

I find the quality of Lidl produce to be very store dependent, I don't know why.

Exactly. People who keep wealth for generations know better.

I like Lidl- it's small enough that I can do a quick loop and get just about everything I need. (I have a Wegman's close by but it takes forever to shop there and I really don't like grocery shopping).
I like the produce, organic chicken, frozen mini icecream treats, fairlife milk, organic eggs and nuts. They also carry their own store brand thin curst frozen margarita pizza that we really like (and I typically don't like frozen pizza...) The prices are great and the only downside is that the checkout people are so quick it's hard to keep up with them (you have to bag your own things).
