APS - when your kid has a cold

Anonymous
For APS, you need to be symptom free meaning as PP said, no runny nose, congestion, coughing etc from cold. If this policy stays in place in the fall, it may be a rough time for some parents with kids out a whole week for a cold.

If the nurse has an issue with it, they can call me.

APS needs to crawl out of its shell.

And many others. Who will all have to stay out for multiple days.

Ok but fewer kids will get sick and that will ultimately mean less missed school for all.

Do you mean fewer kids will get sick if they wear masks?

No I mean if the kid who is sick actually stays home until he feels better, then he will not get other kids sick. And then ultimately fewer kids will have to miss school.

Those kids are more contagious right before symptoms pop up than they are after a few days of no fever and a stuffy nose.

+1

Don't make this harder for other families.

I don't.

But if my kid just has a lingering stuffy nose after having a cold -- and doctor says they are no longer contagious -- then I'm sending them to school.

Voting results indicate that that is not the case.

No, we really don't have that many. The few that we do have are just super loud and obnoxious.
