can I do something to block bird chirping outside to wake up kids?

My DD uses a table fan.

Your kids are gonna hate the cicadas then.

Somehow kids manage to grow up in the jungles of the Amazon without becoming insomniacs so I am sure that your kids can deal.

JFC, leave the damn trees for the birds - learn to embrace some damned nature!!

you clearly don't have underslept children who wake up at night and then at 5 am for the day... Too young to explain that it's just a bird and you can ignore them and sleep another hour.
are you as passionate about stopping urbanization as you are about someone hanging something shiny on a tree to deter birds?

Take their damned screens away, get them some meaningful exercise and put them to bed at a decent hour.

You know, parenting.

You seem very angry. Looks like somebody needs a nap!

My kids never had a problem with the birds chirping and if they had, I'd tell them to lie in bed and listen to their song until they fall asleep again. The more you freak out, the more your kid freaks out.

Who hates birdsong?

Thank you. I just commented to my spouse that I can’t believe that there are three pages of people complaining about birdsong. I can’t imagine anything nicer than hearing birds singing each morning.

Sleeping past 5:15 is nicer than hearing birdsong in the morning.

+1

I hate anything that wakes me up at 5:00am. During the day, it's lovely. In the morning, I hate birdsong.

Oh look, the "get off my lawn" grandpa found DCUM. Are you so grumpy because your grandchildren don't like to visit and spend time with you?

People raving about "birdsong" are weird. It's not like waking up to peer gynt's "morning" - it's like waking up to 7 car alarms going off at once.
